Chota Chardham Yatra (CCY)
The Chota Char Dham (literally, "the small four abodes/seats," meaning "the small circuit of four abodes/seats") is an important Hindu pilgrimage circuit located in Uttarakhand in the Indian Himalayas. The four holy spots that make up the circuit are Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath; they are all located in the Garhwal region of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. Badrinath is one of the four holy cities that make up the Chota Char Dham, a shorter version of the lengthier Char Dham (with each destination being in a different region of the country).
Akshaya Tritiya (April/May on the Gregorian calendar) is the first day of the Chota Char Dham Yatra, and the last day is Bhai-Bij (or Bhai Dooj), which is two days after Diwali.
May and June see a surge in tourism, while July and August bring heavier rainfall and the greater risk of barriers and landslides (Monsoon season)

I went on a Holy Tours trip to Chardham and loved it. There wasn't much time, but there was a lot to do. Our tour guide, Ram, knew a lot about India's history, religion, and culture. Everywhere we went, he taught us something and told us interesting stories. No one tried to get us to buy anything, and the food in the restaurants and hotels we went to was fresh and delicious. The driver was good at his job, and the rides were nice. Holy Tours is a very reliable, professional, and knowledgeable group, and they did everything they could to make sure our trip went as smoothly as possible.

I went on this 12-day trip with my wife and four other couples in October 2022. I had never been to such a high altitude or been on a pilgrimage before.
Even though it was hard to get used to the altitude, we couldn't stop ourselves from seeing all the beautiful things Uttarkhand had to offer. The food, culture, and atmosphere were all so great. Vegetarian food that tastes great and fills you up.

It's hard to think straight when everyone around you is so happy. Jenny, our tour guide, made all of this possible. Her participation in everything was amazing, from explaining what the ideas meant to having fun with the rest of us as a fellow traveller.

Holy Tours are the folks to go to if you want to plan a trip to Chardham. Our tour guide, Smriti, took the time to answer all of our questions about the itinerary, where we would stay (the hotels were great for the area), and so on. Even at the Kachi Dham, they took care of things pretty well. From Rishikesh to all of the dhams, the trip was easy and smooth because the company took care of all of the many checkpoints we had to go through. Definitely a trip of a lifetime!
